We have known since the early 1930’s, that in order for the body to function properly and to maintain optimum health, the general pH of the human system must be alkaline. Arthur C. Guyton, M.D., who is considered the world’s most recognized author on human physiology, has spent the better part of his life studying the pH or acid/alkaline balance to the body. In his “Textbook of Medical Physiology”, which is used to train medical students, he states, and I quote, “The first step in maintaining health is to alkalize the body. The second step is to increase the number of negative hydrogen ions. These are the two most important aspects of homeostasis.” Alkalinizing the body and increasing the number of negative ions is essential for creating a healthy terrain in the human body. Harmful bacteria and viruses and even cancers cannot live in an alkalinized body.

Dr. Guyton found that when the number of negative hydrogen ions is increased, the number of electrons available for the body to use as antioxidants to repair free radical damage is also increased, allowing the body to heal quickly and to maintain a high level of health.

Dr. Otto Warburg, a noted research scientist, received the Nobel Prize in 1931 for discovering that “TO BECOME MALIGNANT, CANCER MUST HAVE A LOW OXYGEN, STRONG ACID ENVIRONMENT.” Research by German and Japanese scientists has added to Dr. Warburg’s discovery. It can now be said that there seems to be no disease causing organism, including bacteria, virus, fungus, yeast, amoeboid, or cancerous cells, which can reproduce in a highly oxygenated, increased electron, alkaline environment. pH represents how acidic or alkaline something is. pH means the "potential for hydrogen." Scientists have found that healthy people have body fluids that are slightly alkaline, 7.1 to 7.5 pH.

Your blood needs to be maintained at a pH at or near 7.4. In an unhealthy or life depleting acidic terrain, the body will rob bones of calcium which is very alkaline in order to get the alkaline calcium benefits to the blood because if the blood becomes acidic, you die. Scientists and doctors have also found that over 150 degenerative diseases are linked to acidity, including cancer, diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, gall and kidney stones, and many more. All diseases thrive in an acidic oxygen poor environment. This is why it is so important that we take actions to regulate our pH and create an alkaline environment in order for our bodies to function correctly.

According to Dr. Theodore Baroody, author of Alkalize or Die, acid wastes attack joints, tissues, muscles, organs, and glands causing minor to major dysfunction. He asserts that avoiding disease and maintaining vitality, as we age, requires the maintenance of an alkaline environment throughout the body - which is virtually impossible to accomplish in our high-tech, high-stress, toxic society, unless we can walk on the beach everyday.

The Ion Cleanse® creates precisely the same environment as the walk along the beach, only more powerfully because your feet are in direct contact with the ions being manufactured in the water. Place your feet in the water, turn on the unit and within seconds, millions of ions enter your body and begin to neutralize these tissue acid wastes.

A water molecule is composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. When the molecule loses a hydrogen atom, the remaining OH molecule takes on a negative charge. As you walk along the beach, your body absorbs millions of these negatively charged ions, which alkalize the blood and tissue. The particles, fat, and mucous residues found in the water after bathing reflect the wastes that have left the body during the 20 to 30 minute session.

The Premier offers Five Different Sessions
As with any cleansing modality, versatility is extremely important. With the IonCleanse® Vitality Enhancement System the user is able to select from five session programs allowing almost anyone to use the equipment. Most of the other units on the market offer only a single session program. Users of these "mono-polar" units may eventually complain of dizziness, nausea and light-headedness during the session. These effects are attributed to using the wrong polarity. Users of the IonCleanse® will almost never feel these sensations.

The following describes the five preset options and recommended use:

1. All Positive – Clinicians only. (which produces a predominance of negative ions in the water) Negative ions produce an increase in PH.

2. All Negative – Clinicians only. (which produces a predominance of positive ions in the water)

3. 70+ (positive) / 30– (negative).
This is the generic setting that should be used by non-clinicians and those who do not muscle test for one polarity or another.

5. 10– (negative) / 15+ (positive) / 5– (negative)

Note: Options 4 and 5 were developed over thousands of sessions. We have found that people who test for positive polarity first generally require option 4; those who test for negative polarity first generally require option 5. Therefore, in most cases where patients test for positive, use option 4; for those who test strong in negative, use the option 5.

AMD recommends giving free sessions to clients after the initial equipment purchase.
